Militant protest against U.S.-Israeli war on the Middle East

Demonstrations against the U.S.-sponsored escalation of the war in the Middle East continue to gain momentum toward the mass protest against war and occupation Aug. 12, in San Francisco, Los Angeles and in front of the White House in Washington, D.C.

A July 27 militant rally in front of U.S. senator Diane Feinstein’s office turned into a march through downtown San Francisco to the San Francisco Chronicle to protest the paper’s pro-Israel coverage of the expanding war in Lebanon. Several people were arrested for blocking traffic at the corner of 5th and Mission.
