March at 1pm to the King Memorial

This Saturday, August 28, the ANSWER Coalition will join the National Action Network and many other progressive organizations, religious groups and labor unions for a rally and march 47 years after the 1963 March on Washington.

The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom was a historic event that demanded advances in civil and economic rights for African Americans. It was there that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in front of over 300,000 people.

Right-wing TV host Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin have called for a rally at the Lincoln Memorial this Saturday. We can’t allow Beck, Palin and the Tea Party to twist the legacy of this historic anniversary for their Corporate-financed, racist and pro-war agenda.

Buses, vans and car caravans are coming to D.C. from almost 50 cities across the East Coast, South and Midwest. Look for the ANSWER Coalition’s table, signs and banners starting at 11am at Dunbar High School – 1301 New Jersey Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.
