Dear Sisters and Brothers from the Defenders for Freedom, Justice & Equality,
We want to communicate our deep appreciation for a decade of principled work on behalf of the working people of Virginia. As evidence by the work of the Defenders it is the fight against racism which remains a central feature of all struggles inside the United States for justice and peace. The ongoing work of the Defenders constitute for other progressive organizations an example of singular importance: the ability to combine grassroots activism with political clarity about the inter-connectedness of the struggle for justice on the home front with an internationalist outlook opposing US imperialism’s efforts to enforce a new-type of colonial domination over the peoples of the developing (i.e. formerly colonized parts of the world) who are fighting to retain independence.
