Dear Sisters and Brothers of
the Party for Socialism and Liberation,
On behalf of the Cuban 5, I
want to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for being
awarded the 2010 Fighters for Justice Award. We accept this award in the spirit
that it was given, one of unwavering struggle towards justice and freedom.
Ramon, Antonio, Rene, Fernando
and myself consider it a great honor to be included with other political
prisoners being held in the United States who are also receiving the award. The
strength and endurance of Mumia Abu-Jamal, Leonard Peltier, Lynne Stewart and
the Angola
3 are an inspiration to us and, like them, we will never give up our principled
dignity because in the end we know that with people like you we will prevail.
We closely follow the work of the
PSL and admire the important contribution you are making toward building a
working-class movement in the U.S.
We deeply appreciate that you have included our case in your work but even more
importantly we appreciate the long and consistent support you have shown for
the Cuban Revolution. We know that our freedom will not come about by a change
of heart by the U.S.
government but rather through the broad and growing international movement of
solidarity that the PSL is a part of.
We wish you success at your
national conference taking place this weekend in Los Angeles and to the future of your party.
Hasta La Victoria Siempre!
