I am from Vancouver, Canada and last Saturday I attended a rally here in Vancouver organized by Turkish people from Vancouver. The organizers of the rally called the deaths of these miners murder. They said the government of Turkey is to blame for these murders.
These coal mines and other mines in Turkey should not have been privatized. The owners of this coal mine should be charged with criminal negligence causing death. The same sort of thing happened here in Nova Scotia, Canada on several occasions in the past also in coal mines. The government was also to blame and they were never charged. The miners in Nova Scotia got a lot in common with the miners in Soma, Turkey.
