The Party for Socialism and Liberation’s Presidential Candidate Peta Lindsay is currently on tour in Florida before heading to Louisiana. Check out the reports and media coverage from the previous leg of her tour below, and make sure to find an upcoming tour event in your area! She will be in Florida until Oct. 26, and then in Louisiana Oct. 27-30.
Peta Lindsay completed the New England portion of her tour with a trip to Burlington, Vt. On Oct. 13, campaign outreach took place at the popular Church St. Market. The next day, Lindsay was interviewed by the local NBC station and the University of Vermont student newspaper, The Vermont Cynic.
In Albany on Oct. 15, she was interviewed by the Albany Times Union, the major daily newspaper serving the area; the Legislative Gazette, a widely read political weekly; and the Metroland, an alternative weekly newspaper. She also addressed a community forum in the evening.
The next day, Lindsay was interviewed by the Ithacan and the Buzzsaw, two newspapers at Ithaca College. That evening, students attended an evening forum hosted by the Ithaca College Feminist Society. Several students expressed a strong interest in working with the PSL in the future.
Oct. 17-19, Lindsay was in Syracuse, where she spoke before three classes at Syracuse University, a total of 150 students, She also did several media interviews and spoke at a community forum organized by the Syracuse branch of the PSL. Interviews included WAER-Syracuse Public Radio, and WRVO, another NPR affiliate that is very widely heard all over Central/Western New York.
The daily Rochester Democrat and Chronicle ran an article on the front page of the local section on the morning of Sat., Oct. 20 with the headline: “Presidential hopeful at Public Market.” Thousands of people from all over the region shop at the Public Market on Saturdays, and Lindsay and campaign volunteers spent the first part of the day there distributing literature and speaking with people.
The same day, there was a house meeting in the African American community in Buffalo where there was an excellent discussion. Here, Lindsay was interviewed by the daily Buffalo News.
