NATO’s violent overthrow of the Libyan regime in 2011 created a failed state and provided an opening for such groups as ISIL. Five years later the Pentagon is considering another intervention into this very unfortunate country. Time and again we see Western military meddling in the Middle East creates the oxygen radicals crave to survive and thrive.
