Many students and youth gathered to stand in solidarity with University of Missouri in Chicago. This action came just five days after Missouri students, including 30 football players who refused to play, protested and made university president Tim Wolf resign. The sentiment in the crowd echoed that Mizzou is not alone in fight against combating racist colleges and other institutions.
Northwestern Illinois University, Columbia University, Dominican University, Depaul University and many colleges in Chicago have
rallied in support of anti-racist protesters in Mizzou this week. Chants included, “Back up, back up, we want freedom, freedom, all these racist institutions, we don’t need ‘em, need ‘em!”
