Over the weekend of August 26-28, presidential and vice-presidential candidates Gloria La Riva and Dennis Banks joined in solidarity with hundreds of Native people and supporters at the historic resistance camp on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota.
We can only continue this exciting campaign if we have the funds to cover these important activities, please take a minute to donate!
La Riva posted on August 28th saying, “Right now at Standing Rock Sioux Tribe land… the camp and resistance is powerful, with so much spirit and solidarity of people from 90 plus Native nations. It is an honor to be with the community here… their determination is tremendous. More to come! Dennis Banks, renowned Native leader and American Indian Movement co-founder… is ever present, marching, sharing ideas with and giving inspiration to young people.”
Dennis Banks has recently issued a declaration on Standing Rock saying, “The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has taken a very strong position to halt any kind of construction of pipeline underneath their land. Not only would the pipeline destroy the environment, it would poison and contaminate the water for years.”
La Riva posted about others joining in Standing Rock saying, “Nick Estes and several members of The Red Nation drove here from New Mexico, now he is busy building a big expansion of shelves to store all the food being donated. There is no shortage of power and solidarity and sustenance here!”
Please take a minute to donate to the campaign! In recent months the Gloria La Riva for President campaign has made tremendous advancements to promote revolutionary socialism around the country. We can only keep up this campaign if all of our supporters donate what they can.
