Communique of the Mexican chapter, In Defense of Humanity
To all the international networks,
To all the organizations: political, social, labor, Indigenous, human rights and of civil society,
To all the peoples of the world:
In view of the police-military occupation of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, it is

Despite the occupation, APPO—the Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca—is regrouping and the movement is more united and active in its popular and democratic struggle.
We ask that you reiterate the demands:
Ulises Ruiz’s ouster from the state’s governorship, return of the troops to their barracks, stop the repression, searches, illegal detentions and the criminal activity of the paramilitary groups.
It is important to support the actions of the Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca through letters to the major newspapers, both in Mexico and where you reside, denouncing Vicente Fox’s responsibility for the repressive policy.
We appreciate your solidarity and support in the actions you carry out.
The cause of Oaxaca is the cause of all the peoples of the world!

Comunicado del capítulo mexicano de En Defense de la Humanidad
A todas las redes internacionales,
A las organizaciones políticas, sociales, gremiales, indígenas, de derechos humanos y de la sociedad civil.
A todos los pueblos del mundo:
Ante la ocupación policíaco-militar del estado mexicano de Oaxaca es urgente mantener las protestas y la presión sobre las embajadas y oficinas consulares de México en sus respectivos países.
Pese a esta ocupación, la APPO ha vuelto a reagruparse y el movimiento está más unido y activo en su lucha popular y democrática.
Les pedimos reiterar la salida de Ulises Ruiz de la gobernatura del estado, el regreso de las tropas a sus cuarteles, el cese de la represión, los cateos, las detenciones ilegales y la actividad riminal de los grupos paramilitares.
Es necesario apoyar las accciones de la Asamblea Popular de los Pueblos de Oaxaca a través de cartas a los periódicos de mayor circulación, tanto en México como en sus propios lugares de origen, responsabilizando al gobierno de Vicente Fox de la política represiva.
