U.S. bombs Somalia, resistance continues

The U.S. and U.N. are backing Somali goverment soldiers, who do not enjoy widespread support.

the U.S.-backed Ethiopian occupation of the country. This is the third time the United States has attacked Somalia officially in 2007.


U.S. Special Operations soldiers are on the ground guiding the Somali puppet government in its counter-insurgency war.


Somali insurgents fighting occupation forces since December 2006 have increasingly employed tactics similar to those of the Iraqi insurgence. Fighters have used roadside bombs and assassinated officials of the puppet government.


Just days before the imperialists’ missile attacks, a roadside bomb destroyed an Ethiopian army convoy wounding five soldiers as another bomb nearly killed the Mogadishu deputy mayor last week.


The Ethiopian occupiers are requesting more help, but the African Union has been hesitant to comply. The United Nations recently agreed to send 3,000 troops to bolster the occupation in Somalia.
