The Seattle Committee to Free the Cuban Five held its third freeway banner drop on June 5. Inspired by the Vancouver, British Columbia Committee to Free the Cuban Five, which has held over 100 monthly pickets in solidarity with the five Cuban heroes, the Seattle Committee initiated a monthly freeway banner drop on the 5th of each month, held during rush hour at 6:30
pm on the 45th Ave bridge over I-5.
Drivers of cars passing below honked and waved in solidarity with the message of the banner: “Fighting terrorism is not a crime-Free the Cuban Heroes Now!” Pedestrians and bicycle riders stopped to talk to members of the committee and learn more about the case.
