10 Simple Points

Dear ,

For the past year, Peta Lindsay, Yari Osorio and hundreds of volunteers have been spreading the message about the campaign’s 10-Point Program — a program that addresses the needs of working and poor people in a way that the Democratic and Republican candidates never will.

There are now less than two weeks before the election. The Lindsay/Osorio Campaign is asking supporters around the country to help spread the message. We are offering to send you beautiful, two-sided full color palm cards with information about this campaign and its 10-Point Program free of charge to anyone willing to hand them out between now and Nov. 6.

“As a second-year teacher who still constantly learning from students and colleagues how to improve my practice, I realized that my job as an educator goes beyond the classroom. My students’ needs go beyond what I can provide in the classroom. Republicans and Democrats want to blame teachers and public schools for the low academic performance of Black and Latino students. I disagree, and the Lindsay-Osorio campaign does too.

“I fight for my students both inside the class as a teacher and outside the class as a volunteer with the Lindsay-Osorio campaign to build a movement of people who recognize that what most negatively affects students’ performance is a capitalist system that keeps public schools underfunded and exploits the working families who rely on these same schools to educate their youth.

“I devoted a large portion of my summer break helping to get Peta Lindsay and Yari Osorio on the ballot in New York. I petitioned full time for a week and then worked around the clock the days before the filing helping to get everything ready to be taken to Albany. Since that time, I have been volunteering every Thursday after school and every Saturday to help spread the word about this campaign.

“I encourage all those around the country who agree with the 10-Point Program of the Lindsay/Osorio Campaign to help spread the word about this important message in the days leading up to the Nov. 6 election.”
