Vermont attorney general candidate to prosecute Bush if elected

The Progressive Party’s candidate for state attorney general in Vermont has promised to prosecute President Bush for murder if elected.

Charlotte Dennett, an attorney and investigative journalist, says Bush must be held accountable for the countless deaths in Iraq. She believes the Vermont attorney general would have jurisdiction to do so.

Dennett would also appoint former Los Angeles prosecutor, Vincent Bugliosi, as her special prosecutor. Bugliosi is the author of the recent book “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder.”

“Someone has to step forward,” said Dennett. “Someone has to say we cannot put up with this lack of accountability any more.” (Associated Press, Sept. 19)

Anti-Bush sentiment runs strong in Vermont. In March, residents of Brattleboro and Marlboro voted to seek indictments against Bush and Cheney over the Iraq war. Dozens of other towns have voted for Bush’s impeachment.
