The Israeli government is blocking a seriously ill Palestinian, Amal al-Adaluni, from uniting with her four children. The children, ages 3 to 16, have been separated from their parents since September 2007. They live in Gaza.
Al-Adaluni was diagnosed with Behcet’s syndrome, an infectious disease that requires consistent medical supervision. She and her husband moved to the West Bank because no adequate treatment was available in Gaza, whose healthcare system is in shambles due to the Israeli siege.
The apartheid Israeli government decided not to allow the children to go to the West Bank, wrongly insisting that the mother is well enough to go back to Gaza. This contradicts medical professionals’ statements that the mother needs constant supervision.
The crime against Amal al-Adaluni’s family is one in a mountain of daily abuses that are directed at Palestinians by the U.S.-backed Israeli regime.
