Chávez provides cheap oil to London’s poor

Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez has made an agreement with London mayor Ken Livingston to provide cheap oil

Under the plan, over 1 million people on income support, including single parents, the long-term sick and disabled people will be eligible for half fares on London’s buses.

This is not the first time that Chávez has stood in solidarity with workers living inside developed nations. Last November, he signed deals with the states of Massachusetts and New York to provide cheap heating oil to low-income residents.

Under Chávez, Venezuela has reclaimed control over its vast oil fields from parasitic foreign companies, and is now able to use this vital resource to benefit workers in Venezuela and elsewhere.
