We remember Jorge as a respected leader, a revolutionary fighter, an internationalist, and a good friend—both to our organization and to all those who fight for a better future. His legacy extends from the mountains of the Cordillera Central all the way to the urban centers of the imperialist oppressor nation.
As an ambassador of revolution, it was here, in the belly of the beast, where we met many times to discuss the struggle in Puerto Rico and the struggle of the workers and the most oppressed around the world. His experience as a revolutionary, as a socialist and as a Machetero inspired and educated countless activists in the United States.
His steadfast devotion to the working class, his unstoppable drive toward independence for Puerto Rico, and his unflinching support for revolutionary Cuba, make him a hero of all people, especially those in the struggle for socialism.
Jorge carried the torch of freedom passed on by Betances, Albizu, Corretjer and his dear comrade Filiberto Ojeda Ríos. A new generation of freedom fighters will cherish his memory by picking up the torch and carrying it through toward completed liberation.
We in the Party for Socialism and Liberation remember when Jorge visited us at our newly-opened New York office in 2005 and spoke to our members. We will follow the example of his revolutionary zeal in our efforts to build a revolutionary, communist movement that will break the chains of oppression, imperialism and war. In that sense, Jorge is not gone.
His voice will always be heard at every rally, at every march, with the students, with the workers, with the most oppressed. His legacy lives on as the struggle continues.
Forward to a free and socialist Puerto Rico!

A nombre del Comité Nacional del Partido Socialismo y Liberación, les mandamos nuestro más sentido pésame a los camaradas y familia de Jorge Farinacci García. Su pérdida es sentida no solamente por el pueblo Puertorriqueño, sino también por los revolucionarios y los luchadores por la libertad alrededor del mundo.
Nosotros recordamos a Jorge como un respetado líder, un luchador revolucionario, un internacionalista, y un buen amigo tanto de nuestra organización como de todos aquellos que luchan por un buen futuro. Su legado se extiende desde las montañas de la Cordillera Central hasta los centros urbanos de la nación imperialista opresora.
Como un embajador de la revolución, fue aquí, en las entrañas de la bestia, en donde nos reunimos muchas veces para discutir la lucha en Puerto Rico y la lucha de los trabajadores y los más oprimidos del mundo. Su experiencia como revolucionario, como socialista y como Machetero inspiró y educó a un sinnúmero de activistas en los Estados Unidos.
Su devoción sólida a la clase trabajadora, su voluntad imparable de llevar a cabo la independencia para Puerto Rico, y su resuelto apoyo a Cuba revolucionaria, lo hace un héroe para todos, especialmente aquellos que luchan por el socialismo.
Jorge llevaba la antorcha de la libertad, pasada a él por Betances, Albizu, Corretjer y su querido camarada Filiberto Ojeda Ríos. Una nueva generación de luchadores por la libertad reconocerá y cultivará su memoria al levantar esa antorcha y llevarla hacia la liberación completa.
Nosotros en el Partido Socialismo y Liberación recordamos cuando Jorge visitó nuestra nueva oficina en Nueva York en el 2005 y habló con nuestros compañeros. Nosotros seguiremos el ejemplo de su ardor revolucionario en nuestros esfuerzos para construir un movimiento revolucionario y comunista que romperá las cadenas de la opresión, del imperialismo y la guerra. En ese sentido, Jorge no se ha ido.
Su voz siempre se oirá en cada mitin, en cada marcha, con los estudiantes, con los trabajadores, con los más oprimidos. Su legado sigue viviendo y la lucha continúa.
¡Que viva Puerto Rico libre y socialista!
