Despite escalating violence carried out by supporters of the coup attempt, anti-war organizers residing in the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, D.C. are standing strong with the support of steadfast activists outside the building. Representatives of the U.S.-backed puppet “president” Juan Guaidó have been attempting to illegally seize the property and evict the embassy protectors in violation of both international and D.C. law. Popular Resistance, Code Pink and the ANSWER Coalition have been spearheading efforts to prevent this gross violation of Venezuelan sovereignty.
The Party for Socialism and Liberation condemns the latest military operation carried out by the coup plotters and all attacks on the Bolivarian Revolution. Venezuela, led by the legitimate, elected President Nicolás Maduro, is an inspiration to all those around the world who believe in self-determination and socialism. We will continue our efforts to defeat the latest U.S.-sponsored coup plot and all other acts of aggression carried out by the United States.
